Mille Feuille means "a thousand leaves" in French, and it gets its name from the compacted layers of puff pastry that form this incredibly French dessert. Puff pastry normally rises as it bakes, but here, we weigh it down so that it forms crisp, thin pieces of delicious buttery pastry instead.

I love your recipes and look forward to them every day.
I don't know anything about puff pastry or how to use it. Do I separate the layers? Use the layers as one piece? Can you do a tutorial on how to use them? I would love to make some of your recipes (especially the European recipes). But I need help first. I cook a lot but not with puff pastry. I would really love to be able to use them. I'm just afraid to try.
Thank you.
