Do you like to drink pure sugar? That is essentially what you are doing when you have these 17 drinks. Each one is packed with so much sugar that it is almost unbelievable. Stay far away from these drinks unless you are just enjoying them as a dessert (because that is what they really are!).

Soda
This one is a no-brainer. Most of us know soda can be bad for us, but there’s just something about it that keeps us addicted. However, it’s best to skip this drink entirely because it’s probably the most dangerous out of the bunch.
Soda is loaded with sugar, and even diet sodas contain tons of preservatives and artificial flavorings, making it a concoction of all bad. Sorry, not sorry.
Iced tea
Alright, we’re a sucker for iced teas, especially in the summer. But these sweet drinks (quite literally) taste so good for a reason. Most store-bought or commercially-produced iced teas are just sugar, water, and a little bit of tea.
Homemade iced tea tastes better because you can control the amount of sugar that goes in. Market-produced iced teas are just tea-flavored sugar water.
Frappuccinos
Oof, it’s pretty hard to give up on that Starbucks frappuccino, isn’t it? And you might customize your drink by asking them to reduce sugar syrup. But even without such changes, frappuccinos contain a buttload of sweeteners and flavorings.
Not only are these drinks extremely sweet, but their unique choice of preservatives and additives make them a breeding ground for health issues.
Slushies
Okay, if you thought slushies weren’t loaded with sugar, we’re sorry, but you’re probably too addicted to notice. Slushies are inherently sweet, which is a dead giveaway for how much sugar they contain.
The flavorings (fruit flavors) used in slushies contain artificial sweeteners, which are much more harmful than real sugar. They also contain unhealthy additives.
Caffeinated drinks
We can’t survive without caffeinated drinks, right? But it’s so much better to make them at home because store-bought or canned caffeinated drinks contain substantial amounts of sugar.
Most canned energy drinks are just a disaster waiting to unload.
Coconut water
Many believe coconut water is healthier than other drinks because it’s natural. However, most bottled or canned coconut water you get from stores is just a big lie dressed up as something healthy.
Coconut water often contains sweeteners that can do more harm than good. Some brands also contain a bunch of preservatives that can harm your body.
Flavored water
You heard it here, folks: flavored water is a money-grabbing scam that makes you feel fancy. And it comes with a big load of sugar. Flavored water may taste good, but it’s almost always a mix of fake flavors, bad sugar, and chemicals.
If you can’t stop drinking this, all you’ve got to do is drop a couple of berries or fruit inside a jug, allow them to mix, and sip it throughout the day. Safe, easy, and cheap.
Chocolate milk
This one probably weighs the heaviest on our hearts because how can something so decadent and nostalgic be so bad on Earth? But that’s just the case; pre-made chocolate milk and chocolate flavorings are extremely high in calorie.
Both contain additives, and neither has good nutritional value. Both offer a sugar level that could put even diabetes to shame.
Sweetened non-dairy
Finding out non-dairy beverages are flavored to the core with bad sweeteners and additives makes us sick to the core. This is perhaps the biggest betrayal because such alternatives are supposed to be healthy or should be.
But sadly, most sweetened non-dairy drinks contain artificial flavorings and sweeteners that give them the oh-so-good taste we like.
Bottled coffee
Just like other caffeinated drinks, bottled coffee is as bad as it tastes good. It might perk you up from the energy jolt, but it’s not the caffeine that’s doing the work but the abundance of sugar that’s making you feel active.
Sounds good until you realize the sugar is just affecting your body and taking a toll on it, which you’ll probably feel later on. Bottled coffee is almost always not worth the calories.
Chai lattes
These trendy drinks are only getting more popular, so they have a big margin for profit. This is why most chai lattes, be it Starbucks’ or some other brand, are just loaded with fake flavors and sugar that make them taste good.
Healthy chai lattes can easily be made at home, where you can control the quality of ingredients and the amount of sugar. Trust us, it’s a good start.
Fruit punch
We’ve been drinking fruit punches all our lives and even shared the love with our kids. However, it’s time we give these drinks up because they don’t get their flavor from fruit extracts; they get it from additives and artificial sweeteners.
If you haven’t gotten it yet, artificial sweeteners are much more harmful than natural ones. So, knowing your favorite fruit punch is just artificial sweeteners is depressing.
Lemonade
Lemons are naturally very sour, so it makes sense that a ton of sugar is needed to make lemonade. However, you will be extremely shocked when you see exactly how much sugar is in every glass of lemonade. Sometimes, there is more sugar than actual lemon!
If you are craving lemon flavor, try just squeezing a fresh lemon slice into your water glass and enjoy the sugar-free drink!
Milkshakes
You probably guessed that a milkshake would have a lot of sugar, but the amount of sugar in a milkshake may shock you. There is sugar from the ice cream, from the milk, and from whatever other mix-ins are added to the blender (aka chocolate sauce, caramel, and candy).
Then, you top the drink with sugary whipped cream and a candies cherry - it is pure sugar insanity!
Flavored Lattes
When you go to your favorite coffee shop and order a flavored latte, they pump pure sugar right into your drink. Lattes get their flavor from artificially flavored syrups, which are not a nutritious choice.
Just think about drinking that sugar syrup right out of the pump bottle, and then maybe you will reconsider that latte.
Juice Boxes
Many kids' juice boxes contain a lot of sugar. You would think that a product marketed to kids would be healthier! But it is not. Instead, most juice companies put more sugar in the juice box so that kids want it more.
Stay away from those sugary juice boxes, and definitely keep them away from your kids.
Mojitos
Your favorite cocktail may have more sugar than you think! Mojitos are actually made with spoonfuls of sugar. The sugar is used to grind up the mint leaves but also add flavor to the drink. All that sugar may be why mojitos taste so good! However, you are drinking spoonfuls of sugar when you have a mojito
Orange Juice
Oranges are naturally high in sugar but lots of bottled orange juices also contain extra sugar. Drinking a big glass of orange juice may sound like a good way to get some vitamin C, but you will also be getting a lot of sugar.
