Ring Pops

Yes, yes, we know that ring pops are still around. But they were invented in the 90s, and that is when we all fell in love with the pretty, ring-shaped lollipops. Ring pop proposals were pretty popular in the '90s, and we wish those would come back. It would be pretty exciting to be given a delicious ring pop!
Candy Cigarettes

We can see clearly why candy cigarettes are no longer sold in stores. Making candy that encouraged kids to pretend they were smoking cigarettes probably wasn’t the best idea. But back in the 90s, everyone had a pack of candy cigarettes in their pocket.
Do we think this 90’s trend should come back? Probably not. But we do have fond memories of this funny candy and had to include it on our list.
Bubble Tape

Hubba Bubba Bubble Tape was in everyone’s huge denim pockets in the 90’s. You couldn’t go anywhere without it! Bubble tape was popular mainly because you could pick the amount of gum you wanted and save the rest for later. Unroll a piece for a friend or break off a strip for yourself, and you could chew merrily for the rest of the day. Oh, how we loved those big rolls of bubble gum…
Mini Chiclets Gum

We can’t start talking about the ’90s and gum without mentioning Chiclets. Chiclets were tiny pieces of gum that came in a small, square paper package. The outside of the gum was crunchy and thick, but once you started chewing it, it turned into flavorful gum.
Everyone used to pour mini Chiclets into their mouth and chew the little pieces into a big mass of colorful gum. You’d be hard-pressed to find Chiclets anywhere these days, but we remember eating the tiny squares like it was yesterday!
Altoid Sours

Altoid sours were the perfect little hard candy. They came in a cute metal tin, and there were a bunch of different flavors you could choose from. Not only did kids in the 90s love to eat Altoid Sours, but we also all collected the tins. They were useful! And we wish they would come back.
Barnum’s Animal Cracker Box

When your mom pulled out that red box of animal crackers, it meant a tasty snack was in your future! Kids in the 90s were obsessed with Barnum’s Animal Crackers. It was just so fun to get your own personal-sized little box of animal-shaped cookies.
You also never knew what kind of animal you would find in the box. Did you get the giraffe? Was there a hippo in your box? It was always exciting to discover what was inside your own little zoo.
French’s Potato Sticks

French’s Potato Sticks look like mini French fries, but they are actually chips. The skinny, crunchy potato chips were in almost every lunch box in the 90’s. Whether your mom bought original flavor, black pepper, or salt and vinegar, you were sure to eat them all up!
Potato Sticks were pretty fun, and we wish that blue cans were back on the grocery store shelves. We would definitely buy at least a few jars and go back down memory lane as we chomped away.
Hostess Fruit Pies

Hostess fruit pies were everywhere in the 90s. You could buy them in any grocery store, gas station, or convenience store, and we sure did buy a lot of them! The fruit pies eventually turned into pudding pies, which kids seemed to like even more.
Lemon pudding was a huge hit, but it was the bright green Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle pudding pie that we loved the best. Hostess no longer makes pudding pies, but you can still find fruit pies to satisfy your longing for your favorite 90s sweet treat.
Toaster Strudel

When you ate your Toaster Strudel in the 90s, did you drizzle on the icing just like in the picture, or did you spread it all the way across with a knife? Or did you save the entire packet until the end and just eat it straight out of the plastic? No matter how you ate your Toaster Strudel, we know that you enjoyed every bite.
It was the best 90s breakfast ever! We long for easy mornings of warm toaster strudel and wish we could still buy this nostalgic food. Bring it back! Please!
Klondike Choco Taco

We want to thank the Klondike company for creating the Choco Taco back in the 90’s. It was one of the most important desserts of the decade! The waffle cone taco shell held the fudge-swirled vanilla ice cream perfectly. The Choco Taco made ice cream easy and fun to eat.
We wish Klondike would make Choco Tacos again because they would be the perfect addition to trendy taco Tuesdays.
Gushers

Gushers fruit snacks were the ultimate lunchbox treat. If you had a pack of Gushers in your school lunchbox, you were definitely one happy kid. When you took one bite, these artificially flavored gummy snacks would explode with fake, sweet juice. They would literally gush into your mouth.
While Gushers may have been unhealthy, we still savored every bite. We hope that this treat will make a comeback.
Fruit by the Foot

Opening your lunch box to find fruit by the foot was like striking gold. The chewy candy was three feet of fun, and we loved every single inch! The big question is, did you rip off a piece to share or did you eat the whole three feet all on your own?
Royal Dansk Cookies

That dark blue tin of cookies was a staple in almost every home in the 1990’s. Everyone ate butter cookies for dessert, for a snack, or even as breakfast! The cookies were buttery, light, and completely melted in your mouth. Royal Dansk cookies are no longer sold in grocery stores, but if you need to get your 1990s cookie fix, you can still buy them online! We may need to stock up on those blue tins before they are really gone forever.
By the way, did you know that you can easily bake these cookies? Check out our Danish butter cookies recipe!
Dunkaroos

We loved those little cookie snack packs that came with sugary sprinkle frosting. Dunakroos were seriously the best lunch box snacks ever. You'd be hard-pressed to find Dunkaroos in any grocery store now, and we don't know why they disappeared. Everyone loved them so much!
Flavo Ice

Every kid in the 90s had a freezer full of Flavo Ice. It was a super cheap summer snack that would instantly make any kid happy. The colored corners of your mouth were proof you had enjoyed Flavo Ice all day long.
You can still get Flavo Ice in some stores, but the flavors have changed since the 90's. They are good now, but not quite the same.
