1. TV Dinners

Anyone over 60 absolutely loves TV dinners. Pop a frozen tray into the microwave, and then dinner is served! But everyone should stay away from frozen meals. They are loaded with sodium and artificial preservatives that are unhealthy and taste terrible.
There are many other great, easy ways to make a dinner that will taste a whole lot better. We promise!
2. Canned Soups

Condensed canned soups are not good. Not only do they have less flavor than homemade soups, but they are also pretty unhealthy. Those little cans are often packed with artificial ingredients you won't find in a homemade soup.
We know lots of older people grew up eating condensed canned soups and we also get that they are easy to make. But there are many other, better soups that don’t come in a metal can. It's time to ditch the can and try soup in new, healthier ways.
3. Canned Fruits

While we are on the topic of canned soups, let’s also talk a little about canned fruit. Everyone over 60 seems to be a big fan of canned fruits. It is always ripe, and it is easy to keep it on hand in the pantry. But soft, mushy fruits that are soaked in sugar syrup are not the best choice.
Instead of grabbing a can of fruit, baby boomers should try healthier, fresh fruit from the produce aisle. Give the fresh fruit a try, and we know you will love it! It is even more flavorful than the canned stuff.
4. Twinkies

Everyone likes soft, fluffy cake, but those over 60 seriously love Twinkies. Twinkies have been around for as long as this generation has been alive, which is why the little stuffed cakes bring back so many childhood memories. But Twinkies are really not healthy and not that tasty, either. We think baby boomers will like real bakery cupcakes a whole lot better!
5. American Cheese

Those plastic-wrapped slices of cheese need to go. Older generations tend to purchase highly processed foods, which people did in the 1960s. Food that lasted a long time was a good thing!
But besides tasting disgusting, American cheese is also bad for the environment. All that plastic wrapping is so harmful to the earth! Older people should stop buying this terrible “food” and get a real block of cheese. It still lasts quite a long time in the fridge and just tastes so much better.
6. Miracle Whip

Most people over 60 will remember when Miracle Whip was first invented. We have to admit that the name alone is enough to make this condiment pretty appealing.
These days, people tend to eat mayonnaise made with natural ingredients or healthier oils. No one really buys Miracle Whip anymore, so let's keep it out of the grocery carts, too.
7. Cool Whip

Almost everyone over 60 has a tub of Cool Whip in their freezer. Seeing as the frozen whipped topping was invented in their decade, those grandparents are just hooked on the stuff! It does bring back memories of desserts made by mom.
But older people may be the only ones still buying that chemical-flavored whipped topping. It is definitely past its prime! Give real whipped cream a try instead. We will all say goodbye to Cool Whip together...Goodbye!
8. Spam

Spam was originally created as a wartime food. Processed meats were packed with excessive sodium to help preserve the meat for longer. Everyone over 60 just gobbles it up! However, we are not in a serious time of war right now, and there is plenty of meat.
People should try to skip the canned meat and just eat the real thing. It will definitely taste better.
9. Grapefruit

Grapefruit may seem like a healthy, beneficial food, but people over the age of 60 who take many medications need to be wary of this fresh fruit. Grapefruits react badly with many medications and can even prevent certain medicines from working. Older people may want to stop eating grapefruits just in case!
10. Artificial Sweeteners

The older generations love adding Splenda, Sweet & Low, and Equal to everything. Adding sweeteners to food without increasing calories is something many people love. However, these artificial sweeteners are not real foods but pure chemical packets.
So, let's return to real sugar, maybe some honey or maple syrup. Science has proven that natural sweeteners are much better than fake sweeteners.
11. Bran Cereal

Bran cereal is an insanely boring, bland cereal that no one eats anymore. We know you are tired of it, too, grandma! Sure, bran will help keep you regular, but you shouldn’t torture your taste buds just to stay healthy. There are plenty of other, tastier cereals on the market that everyone should try. Ban the bran!
12. Sardines

If the elderly stopped eating sardines, the whole sardine market would probably collapse! So listen up grandparents- we know you don’t like these slimy, smelly fish. We don't like them either! Follow the millennial's lead and try salmon instead. You will still get to enjoy a healthy fish meal in a much tastier way.
13. Cream of Wheat

Cream of wheat packets are a favorite breakfast for anyone over 60. It is another childhood classic that they probably fondly remember. But we think everyone may agree that it isn't very tasty. Maybe it is time to discover the wonders of freshly made oatmeal instead. Sorry, cream of wheat, you have to go.
14. Vienna Sausage

Vienna sausages are just....gross. They are slimy, cold, and made with very weird ingredients. We aren't so sure we should be eating anything encased in sheep intestines. Please reconsider buying these awful canned meats. You won't miss them. We promise.
15. Fish Sticks

Frozen fish sticks are just not good. The older generations might like the convenience of fish sticks, but breading your own fresh fish is the way to go. It is not hard to make homemade breaded fish, and you will feel more like an adult eating it. Save the fish sticks for the kids and eat healthier, tastier fish instead!
