Food trends are just like any other trend. They are taking over the internet by storm, and besides a few outstanding ones, they fade away in a few months. The following 16 trendy foods have had their moment, but now many people are ready for something fresh. Maybe it’s time to shake things up and make room for the next big thing.
Butter Boards

Who in the world thought that spreading butter on a cutting board would be a good idea? Butter boards are terrible. Cutting boards are a brewing ground for bacteria, and pushing fatty butter into all the cracks and crevices of the board will not go over well. You can guarantee you will need to throw that board away after you make your “fancy” butterboard unless you plan to enjoy a good round of e.coli later on. Butterboards need to go away forever. I think we can all agree with that.
Turmeric Lattes

Turmeric is known for its anti-inflammatory properties. It can definitely help with aching joints, but that nutritional benefit doesn’t come without a cost. The taste of turmeric is almost unbearable. It has a mustardy, earthy flavor that is not very delicious. So why is everyone adding it to steamed milk and claiming to love it? Turmeric lattes are not tasty, and it is one food trend we can’t wait to see disappear.
Nacho Tables

We love nachos. Doesn’t everyone? And while we can’t get enough nachos and always want more nachos, the idea of turning our entire table into a giant nacho platter sounds awful. There would be crumbs everywhere, cheese would drip down the table legs, and don’t even get us started on the germs and double-dipping that would be going on.
We hope this trend goes away once people realize that cleaning up after a nacho table is basically impossible.
Cloud Bread

Cloud bread is the keto diet answer for replacing classic bread. Cloud bread is made from egg whites, cream of tartar, and salt. The fluffy mix is baked and has a texture similar to a slice of bread but without the calories and carbs.
The thing is, we like regular bread. Cloud bread crumbles under the weight of a sandwich and has almost no flavor. While Tiktokers want cloud bread to become a “thing,” we are going to say “no thank you” to this trend.
Pasta Chips

Everyone loves chips in all different forms, but the idea of eating crunchy, uncooked pasta and calling it a chip is simply weird. Pasta chips seem to be all the rage right now, but we are convinced that nobody actually likes them.
Dried pasta is thick, hard to chew, and has a pasty texture when you pop it in your mouth. We are going to keep eating potato chips and cooking our pasta instead of jumping on this trend.
Frozen Yogurt Bark

We thought this trend sounded like a very good idea. Yogurt, fruit, and sweetener are all mixed together, spread on a tray, and frozen. Once the yogurt is hard, it is broken into pieces and eaten like a healthier version of chocolate bark.
So, what is the downside to yogurt bark? It thaws really, really quickly. Then, instead of having a hard piece of bark you can pick up and eat, you just have a messy yogurt plate. This trend had potential, but in all actuality, it is not good.
Natures Cereal

Have you heard about “nature’s cereal”? It is one TikTok trend that we expect to be gone quite soon. Nature's cereal is essentially a bowl of berries with coconut water poured on top. The berries are the “cereal” and the coconut water is the new milk.
Sure, it may taste good, but it is not cereal. Berries floating in water also look pretty weird. It makes us mad that anyone thought this was a ground-breaking idea… how did this become a trend?!
Chlorophyll Water

That turquoise-green water you have seen on the internet is called chlorophyll water. It is made by mixing chlorophyll powder with ice water. That is it! Chlorophyll is very healthy and has lots of detox benefits. But the bad thing about this trend is how gross it tastes. Yes, chlorophyll water looks pretty, but it tastes like drinking seaweed. We will stick to regular, clear water for now.
Baked Feta Pasta

While we loved this pasta trend when it first went viral, we are so tired of eating it now. The idea of roasting cherry tomatoes with a block of feta cheese and then tossing in pasta is a good one. It is easy, quick, and tasty. But we don't want to eat it every day. We don't even want to eat all that feta cheese every week. Let's save this trendy dish for once a year on a special occasion. Maybe by then, we won't be so sick of it.
Honeycomb Pasta

Yes, this trendy dish looks incredible. The way the noodles are all standing up and stuffed with cheese is really eye-catching. However, honeycomb pasta is such a pain to make. It literally takes forever to stuff those little noodles and get them to look pretty. All that work and then the pasta just gets scooped and divided onto plates. We want to skip all that hard work and skip this food trend.
Pink Sauce

The pink sauce was created by an internet chef who immediately started selling the rosy-colored condiment online. Tons of people who received it said it made them sick. The company claimed that the lack of refrigeration was why the sauce made people ill, and they continued to market and sell it. Yes, all you TikToks, the sauce does look cool. But is it worth vomiting over?
Pancake Cereal

This is another food trend that looks very cool but is not practical at all. First, you have to make pancake batter. Then, you need to cook tiny drops of batter individually to make the cereal. This can take quite a long time, so let us tell you that flipping those mini pancakes is not easy! Then, you put the pancake bites in a bowl, add milk, and eat it like cereal.
Why not just make a big pancake and eat it like a pancake? Or have a regular bowl of cereal that takes a fraction of the time. Cute idea with this trend, but we don’t like it. Thanks, but no thanks!
Fancy Ice

We love a good glass of ice water, but the ice trend is going a little bit too far. People are posting pictures of freezers full of nothing but fancy ice. Ice in rose shapes, ice with herbs and fruit, ice with spices, and even ice with glitter frozen inside. It is all a little bit too much. Who has time to make all these decadent ices? And do they even taste good? Probably not.
Coffee Orange Juice

Yes, that is correct. People are actually blending coffee and orange juice together. This trend is everywhere right now, and we are not on board. There is no way anyone could possibly like orange juice mixed into their coffee. It sounds like a way to ruin both of your morning beverages. Please keep the coffee and orange juice separate.
Corn Ribs

Corn ribs are a vegetarian version of ribs that is all over the internet right now. People are switching the meat and just cutting a corn cob in ⅛ths and then slathering it in BBQ sauce. But corn ribs are really nothing special. They just taste like corn with barbecue sauce. It's all about the marketing here! Just eat your corn the regular way.
Girl Dinner

The so-called "girl dinner" has been popping up all over social media. Girl dinner is essentially just a bunch of snacks put on a large platter or tray. While we all love snacks, this is not a dinner. Plus, this trend implies that girls don't eat real meals. They do, and they should. Ditch this trend and just make a real dinner instead.
