Oreos don’t usually need an introduction, but when a familiar favorite shows up with zero sugar written on the label, it definitely deserves a closer look. Curiosity kicked in fast. Could the crunch, the cream, and that unmistakable Oreo flavor really survive a swap?
We grabbed the double-stuffed version and put it to the test to see if this new release lives up to the hype or falls into “too good to be true” territory.

Where to purchase
Zero Sugar Oreos are for sale at local grocers. Hyvee, Gerbes, and Walmart are just a few of the stores that should have them in-store. The price for Double Stuf at Gerbes was $5.29.
It doesn't seem to be a limited-time offering. It's a new product in their lineup, which typically means that it's here to stay.
You may have to look at end caps or display areas in the stores to find it, as that is where they were displayed in Gerbes. It wasn't in the cookie aisle with the rest of the cookies. Gerbes had a display set up near the milk, which was the only dessert option, making it stand out and catch shoppers' eyes.
Ingredient list
The full list of ingredients in the Oreo cookies is:
unbleached enriched flour (wheat flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiamine mononitrate [vitamin b1], riboflavin [vitamin b2], folic acid), maltitol, palm oil, polydextrose, canola oil, cornstarch, cocoa (processed with alkali), sorbitol, leavening (baking soda and/or calcium phosphate), salt, soy lecithin, chocolate, artificial flavor, sucralose, acesulfame potassium. contains: wheat, soy
The front of the package clearly states that it is zero sugar and aspartame-free. It also points out that the cookies are always made with real cocoa.
The sweetness in zero-sugar Oreos comes mainly from maltitol and sorbitol, which are sugar alcohols that replace sugar’s bulk and provide mild sweetness. Sucralose and acesulfame potassium are added in tiny amounts to boost sweetness to a sugar-like level. Polydextrose helps with texture but contributes little sweetness on its own.
A serving size is considered two Oreos, totaling 120 calories. There are zero sugar grams, and zero added sugar grams, along with 0% added sugar daily value.

Appearance
One big visual difference between these cookies is their packaging. They're in a bag, instead of a plastic container. The two cookies in a serving are also individually packaged, which makes them great for taking on the go, packing into lunches, or just making sure each person eats a serving and no more.
The new cookies visually look like any other Oreo. Same type of print, same size, literally almost identical. You'd never know the difference between Oreos with sugar and without. The cocoa gave them a dark color, and the filling was bright white.
The packaging for sugar free is smaller, at 8 ounces, whereas a standard package of Double Stuf Oreos is 14 ounces.
Taste

First impression bite was that it was delicious. The cookies had a great crunch with a silky smooth double-stuffed middle. We were trying to figure out how it could be without sugar, and we were honestly still puzzled after taking a couple more bites.
The cookies taste just like regular Oreos. The middle cream, when eaten alone, isn't quite as sweet and has a bit of tang, but with the cookies, it would pass easily as a classic Oreo.
There wasn't any type of chemical taste, nor was there any weird aftertaste. It was just a good cookie, from the crunch to the flavor.
Texture
The texture of the cookies was fantastic. The two outer cookies were crisp and had the perfect crunch. The middle cream was generous and smooth.

The individual packaging is really perfect because it keeps the rest of the cookies fresh, since you don't have to open the entire package to grab one.
Would you buy it again
Absolutely. Without a doubt, it's a great cookie.
If you're looking for a way to cut down on your sugar intake without sacrificing flavor, give these Zero Sugar Oreos a try. Pair them with a glass of milk, or grab a pack and eat them straight from it. Oreo fans are going to love having another option to add to their snack list.
The takeaway
Zero Sugar Oreos deliver a classic Oreo experience without feeling like a compromise. They taste extremely close to the original, with no “diet” feel. If you’re cutting back on sugar but still want a cookie that feels indulgent, this one earns a spot in the pantry.
