As the nation gears up to commemorate its independence, what better way to sweeten the festivities than with a delightful and easy-to-make patriotic dessert? Whether you're the designated host or simply looking to contribute a delectable treat to the potluck, we´ve got you covered! These red, white, and blue strawberries are the easiest dessert for beginners and never fail to impress!
Why this is the best 4th of July Strawberries recipe
- It doesn't require any special ingredients or equipment - These easy dessert strawberries only call for three ingredients: Strawberries, white chocolate chips, and blue sprinkles or sanding sugar. Also, no special equipment is necessary. You will only need a microwave-safe bowl, a baking tray, and your hands.
- It uses the highest quality ingredients - Unlike other chocolate strawberry recipes, I do not use chocolate candy melts which are not real chocolate. This recipe uses only high-quality white chocolate that does not require any oil to melt.
- It is easy to follow - Red white and blue strawberries are a breeze to make and only take 15 minutes of prep time to prepare a large batch. The hardest part is waiting for them to set!
- It is incredibly versatile - There are many ways to prepare these chocolate dipped strawberries. Using my white chocolate-covered strawberries as a base, you can choose the edible decorations you like to fit any occasion.
- They're a nutritious way to celebrate the patriotic holidays - Strawberries aren't just delicious but nutritious and full of vitamins. Add these chocolate-dipped strawberries to your dessert table instead of candy, cakes, or cupcakes for the Fourth of July, Memorial Day, or Labor Day. You can also use them for birthdays, weddings, and other patriotic-themed celebrations.
Ingredient notes
- Strawberries - Use fresh, ripe, and firm strawberries for the best appearance and taste. I recommend keeping the stalks and leaves attached to make dipping easier!
- White chocolate - For the best results, use high-quality white chocolate. White chocolate is quite sensitive when it comes to melting and may break if the quality is low. I recommend using Callebaut white chocolate chips or a Lindt white chocolate bar, as they do not require adding oil to melt the chocolate.
- Blue Sprinkles - For the final touch, you will need blue sprinkles to dip your Fourth of July strawberries. You can also use blue sanding sugar instead of blue sprinkles.
How to make this recipe
- Thoroughly rinse the strawberries and pat dry them with a paper towel. Make sure they are completely dry.
- Melt the white chocolate over low heat using a double boiler or microwave, stirring frequently (approximately every 30 seconds). To prevent the chocolate from becoming grainy, remove it from the heat as soon as it is fully melted. Do not overheat.
- Take the strawberry by its stalk and dip it ¾ into the melted white chocolate. Gently shake the strawberry to get rid of the excess chocolate. Next, dip the lower ⅓ of the strawberry into the blue sprinkles.
- Continue the above steps with the remaining strawberries, then place them next to each other on a prepared baking sheet.
- Please note that you relative need to work quickly as the chocolate will set eventually. The first two might go slower then try to make them in a good speed.
- Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to allow the chocolate to set.
- Serve fresh and chilled, storing leftovers in the refrigerator for 1-2 days.
Top Tip: If making many 4th of July chocolate covered strawberries, it is best to melt the chocolate in batches. Doing so will prevent the chocolate from cooling and becoming gloopy while dipping the remainder of the strawberries.
