Nutella has long been a timeless classic, loved for its instantly recognizable package and taste, and for its famously consistent recipe that has remained largely unchanged for decades. Because the brand rarely experiments with its signature flavor, the arrival of a new variation is a big deal for longtime fans and curious shoppers alike.
According to the official website, the new Nutella Peanut spread "blends the unmistakable creaminess of Nutella® with the delicious taste of roasted peanuts." We were curious to try it, so here are our honest and true thoughts about tasting Nutella Peanut for the first time.

Where to purchase
We purchased it at Gerbes, where it was stocked in the peanut butter aisle right next to the classic Nutella. The price was $5.49, but it may differ at other locations and by now must be available at most of the big retailers nationwide.
Since it's new, it's hard to say whether this is going to stay on shelves permanently or is just testing the waters to see if it's a hit.
Ingredients
While the ingredient list is short, listing sugar first clearly shows how sweet it is.
The other ingredients include: peanuts, palm oil, peanut flour, cocoa, hazelnuts, lecithin as an emulsifier, salt, vanillin: an artificial flavor.
A standard serving size is 2 tablespoons, providing 200 calories, 14 grams of sugar, and 5 grams of protein. Compared with classic Nutella, which has 21 grams of sugar in the same 2-tablespoon portion, this version contains noticeably less sugar, though it does have slightly more fat.

Appearance
The Nutella Peanut is available in a 13-ounce container with the same shape as the Classic containers or in a a 26 Oz bi-pack. The new version also features a bright yellow gold top and label, making it stand out on the shelf.
The other fun surprise was that, once the lid was removed, the foil covering the Nutella was gold, making it feel like a fancy treat.
Taste

It is absolutely delicious! While it does taste a bit more like peanut butter than hazelnut, it's definitely a rich, sweet flavor that coats the mouth perfectly.
The second bite actually zeroed in a bit more on the flavor. It tasted like the middle of a Reese's candy bar, or the flavor you get when you put a whole bunch of Reese's Pieces in your mouth at once.
Seriously, if you're a fan of anything Reese's, you're going to love this. It doesn't taste processed, and it has a really good sweetness and aftertaste. That being said, a little bit goes a long way.
I could literally eat it with a spoon, but it would be super good on toast or even rice cakes as a snack. You could also definitely dip strawberries or other fruit into it.
Texture
The texture is super smooth. It is a bit runnier than regular Nutella, but it still held its shape well. The color is a bit lighter than Nutella, but they do look really similar to one another.
Sticking the spoon into the container to get a bite was easy, and it had good suction and hold on the spoon, so it could be left in without sinking to the bottom of the container.

Would you buy it again
100%, yes. It's just really that good. One thing to be aware of is that the peanut butter flavoring is stronger than the hazelnut flavoring, so if you like peanut butter, that's a win; if you don't, be prepared.
The price point of $5.49 seems pretty spot-on compared to other products in the peanut butter aisle. And since it spreads far and wide, the jar should last for quite a while. Unless you eat it by the spoonful, then it's a whole different story.
The takeaway
Nutella Peanut leans heavily into that rich, candy-like flavor that’s hard not to enjoy, especially if you already like peanut butter-forward treats. It’s sweet, smooth, and easy to eat. Maybe a little too easy if you’re not paying attention to portion size.
It wasn't made to replace classic Nutella; it carves out its own space as a dessert-style spread rather than an everyday staple. If it sticks around, it’s the kind of product you’ll probably grab again when you’re craving something indulgent.
