Chicken Diane

A classic chicken dish with a decadent sauce, chicken Diane rose to the heights when it first appeared somewhere around the 60s.
For a while, this delicious dish kept its streak of success, but over the years, it gradually disappeared from restaurant menus.
Well, not anymore. Classic restaurants and rising chefs are finally bringing back this elegant dish, and it’s about time because there have been some serious cravings for the Dijon mustard and broth combo.
Bread and butter pudding

This dessert didn’t go out of fashion per se, but it was majorly overshadowed by New York cheesecake and ice cream over brownies.
But not anymore. Restaurants are openly embracing the delight, and even some bakeries are offering this delightful dessert.
And honestly, we all know we’ll be the first to line up for this classy, decadent dessert.
Tuna casserole

All right, this may get a bit of hate because tuna casserole isn’t exactly popular, but it definitely was iconic.
Tuna casserole is one of the dishes you’d only like if your grandmother made it, but it’s a great thing it’s getting back in fashion because that means we can carry out familial traditions to the next generation!
Shrimp cocktail

Maybe we’re old, but there’s something so delightful and elegant about a shrimp cocktail, right?
Sure, the idea doesn't go well with everyone, mainly because this dish was more era-specific than others.
But I bet when people see this item on the menu, they’ll order it every time. Who could resist a dish that’s fancy to look at and tastes delicious?
Pigs in a blanket

Ah, pigs in a blanket. The one dish that hit too hard, partied too much, and left us heartbroken. There was a timer when pigs in a blanket were served at every party, whether birthdays or weddings. They were especially famous for baby showers, too.
But the dish disappeared out of nowhere, and while it’s served in private ceremonies, it’s about time they make a well-deserved comeback to the public.
Save plenty for me!
Icebox cakes

Icebox cakes were a hit at one point; they were distinctly served at birthday parties and bridal showers.
But maybe people just wanted cakes with sponges because these delicious little treats suddenly went out of style.
Thankfully, we’re coming back to our senses and re-adding these cakes to the menu because they deserve the attention!
Cronut

Does anybody remember Cronuts? Because we do.
Ever since cronuts were introduced, they instantly sold out every day, and it was a hassle trying to get one. And yet, at the end of the day, when you were holding this donut-shaped croissant in your hands, it was worth the long line at the bakery.
Perhaps we’re a bit emotional, but they certainly needed to come back.
Fondue

Did you even have a life if you didn’t dip tiny pieces of food in fondue?
Fondue fountains were an excellent idea that instantly succeeded but went away too quickly.
And let’s not lie; we’ve missed dipping food in flowing cheese, right? So why wouldn’t we be happy with its comeback?
Tater Tots

Tater tots are the perfect dish for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. They even make a great, simple snack! So why did people stop eating tater tots for so long? Many were concerned about health claims made against tater tots, which may or may not be real.
No matter what, we want to start eating them again. They are a true throwback food from our youth that we miss!
Pineapple upside-down cake

This classy cake has a special place in our hearts, and it’s not just because of its flavor. Sure, pineapple upside-down cake was one of those cakes that were served at every party and get-together, but this retro dish is a little more than just a nostalgic bite. The way the pineapple just dissolved into the cake’s base and made every bite so moist yet fluffy is a neat trick no other dessert can manage.
Ambrosia salad

Just like tuna casserole, ambrosia salads were the highlights of family gatherings close to 10-15 years ago. But we’ve certainly missed it.
Sure, it's not an instant hit with the taste buds, but it will definitely win them over after a few minutes.
And once you’re hooked, there’s really no turning back.
Banana splits

At one point, banana splits were the dessert, so when they slowly phased out from menus, to say we were devastated is an understatement.
Luckily, they’re making a well-deserved comeback, and we just know this retro dessert will quickly rise to the top. Because as weird as that one Spongebob episode was, let’s not forget we were all equally addicted to this delicious dessert at one point.
So yeah, grab your spoons because we’ll be eating banana splits until we pass out.
Chicken pot pie

Chicken pot pie is one dish that didn’t erase itself from the menu but was overlooked because of other unique options.
Many considered chicken pot pie boring, which is a wild statement considering it’s anything but that.
But we understand the dish may be built for specific generations, so it’s a great thing it’s coming back because, boy, have we missed eating this one.
Deviled Eggs

Deviled eggs were pretty popular in the 1950s, but they disappeared for a while. Where did those little appetizer eggs go? We don't know, but we sure are happy they are back!
We love popping a perfectly deviled egg right into our mouth. We want to eat these forever! Never go away again, okay, deviled eggs?
