Americans will deep fry just about anything. We eat deep-fried Oreos, deep-fried ice cream, and even deep-fried butter (yes, that is real food). Many main courses are also battered and fried. Fried chicken is one of the number one meals in America.
My arteries are starting to clog just thinking about all the oil people consume as they eat deep-fried everything. This is a clear reason why Americans are fat.
Huge Portions

In the United States, bigger is always better. Whenever you go out to eat, you can expect to receive giant portions. From pasta dishes made with an entire pound of noodles to burgers weighing over two pounds, you can't escape the oversized foods in the US.
The size of the food alone can contribute to weight gain, and it's nearly impossible to avoid.
Multiple Meals

People in the United States typically eat a large breakfast, a substantial lunch, and then a substantial dinner. There are no "light meals", no skipping meals, and definitely no cutting back. We are expected to sit down and eat three complete meals each and every day.
Now, add snacks between those meals and dessert, and your waistline will grow. But American culture says that you should eat three meals!

Americans love fast food. There are fast-food restaurants everywhere and it is a common meal throughout the week. The bad thing is that fast food is extremely unhealthy.
A diet that is loaded with fast food will definitely make you gain weight. Sorry, Americans, your favorite way of eating is making you fat.

Americans often snack into the late hours of the night. Dinner and dessert should be the final meals of the day. But not when you are in America! We all keep snacking until the moment we go to bed.
Your body's metabolism slows down at night, so all those extra calories will just sit in your system. You can guess the effect that will have on your body.
