Sweet rolls/buns are one of the most popular bakery snacks, and we don’t have to talk much about why. Everyone knows they are delicious.
But they’re just loaded with all the wrong nutrients. They have an unnaturally high carb and sugar content and don’t really balance the scales with other nutrients, so it’s best to avoid them. Try this homemade brioche instead.

Not many of us realize how common this syrup is. It is in everything.
High-fructose corn syrup is a basic ingredient in most processed food, and that should tell you how dangerous it can be.
This specific syrup, made from corn starch, has been linked to unnatural blood sugar level spikes, issues with insulin resistance, and other metabolic problems. Some even suggest it has a potential connection to heart problems.
White bread

Surprised to see this staple?
White bread is made from extremely refined flour, so it lacks basic nutrients extracted from grains that our body needs.
It also doesn’t help that white bread contains little to no fiber, which can worsen metabolic conditions. If you have to eat bread, look for whole-grain wheat bread rather than overly processed white bread.
Margarine

Ironically, margarine isn’t as healthy as we think.
This butter substitute may contain trans fats, which can raise cholesterol levels in the body.
While some margarines are made without trans fats, you never know for sure if they’re healthy. Overeating margarine can lead to high blood pressure, cholesterol, heart disease, and even obesity. It's best to skip it completely.
Crackers

Companies make up for the lack of flavor from the reduced fat by adding extra sugar and salt. The dressing actually ends up being worse for you than regular, full-fat dressing.
Fruit Juice

Recent studies have shown that fruit juice, even 100% natural juices, is pretty bad for your health. Drinking too much fruit juice will cause a rush of fructose into your liver. This can lead to long-term health issues like diabetes, cancer, and heart issues. Skip the juice and stick to classic, dependable water! You really can't go wrong with plain water.
