If you're looking for a fun and easy summer dessert to celebrate the most patriotic holiday of the year, these 4th of July Strawberries will do the trick! This recipe is made with fresh, juicy red strawberries, dipped in creamy white chocolate, and then finished with festive blue sprinkles (blue sanding sugar) for a decorative sweet treat everyone will love.
Rinse and completely dry the strawberries with the help of paper towels.
Melt white chocolate over a double boiler or in the microwave at low heat, stirring every 30 seconds or so. Make sure that you do not overheat the chocolate as it can become grainy; only heat it until it is fully melted.
Hold a strawberry by the green leaves, then dip it ¾ into the melted white chocolate. Let any excess white chocolate drip off by gently shaking the strawberry, then dip it into the blue sprinkles to cover the lower ⅓ of the strawberry.
Proceed with the rest of the strawberries. Place them on a prepared baking sheet next to each other.
Let the chocolate set in the refrigerater for 30 minutes.
Serve them fresh, store any leftovers refrigerated for 1-2 days.
Notes
If you have removed the stalk from your strawberries, spear the top with a fork or a cocktail stick to dip strawberries into melted chocolate.
Don't burn the white chocolate. Be sure to melt it slowly and evenly either using the double boiler method or the microwave.
You do not need to temper the chocolate, as these white chocolate-dipped strawberries are meant to be served chilled.
Try using some creative decorations eg. sprinkles, strawberry crumbs, or gold dust.
