Ingredients

Best allspice substitute

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper optional

Instructions

  • Whisk together the ground nutmeg, cinnamon, and cloves.
  • For savory dishes, mix in ground black pepper.

Notes

 
For an allspice substitute without cloves, eliminate the cloves and use equal parts nutmeg and cinnamon.
