Ingredients

  • 20 pieces Strawberries
  • 140 grams White chocolate good quality chocolate chips eg. Callebaut or white chocolate bar eg. Lindt
  • Sprinkles optional
  • Americolor gel Pink food coloring optional

Instructions

Make the white chocolate dipped strawberries

  • Rinse and completely dry the strawberries with the help of paper towels.
  • Melt white chocolate over a double boiler or in the microwave at low heat stirring every 30 seconds or so. Make sure that you do not overheat the chocolate as it can become grainy, only heat it until it is fully melted.
  • Hold the strawberry by the green leaves, then dip them either fully or ¾ into the melted white chocolate. Let any excess white chocolate drip off by gently shaking the strawberries, then place them on a prepared baking sheet next to each other.
  • Let the chocolate set in the refrigerator for 30 minutes or 15 minutes in the freezer.

Decoration ideas

  • To make a chocolate drizzle decoration, move melted chocolate into a piping bag and cut the tip off to make a small hole. Then, drizzle the strawberries.
  • To make pink chocolate covered strawberries, mix a small amount of pink food coloring into the melted white chocolate and either drizzle or dip the strawberries with the pink chocolate.
  • To make sprinkled strawberries, dip strawberries into the melted chocolate then apply sprinkles on top

Notes

  1. If you have removed the stalk from your strawberries, spear the top with a fork or a cocktail stick to dip strawberries into melted chocolate.
  2. Don't burn the white chocolate, be sure to melt it slowly and evenly either using the double boiler method or the microwave.
  3. You do not need to temper the chocolate, as these white chocolate-dipped strawberries are meant to be served chilled.
  4. Try using some creative decorations eg. sprinkles, strawberry crumbs, or gold dust
